Are you new to Brow Lamination? We will dive into the risks and benefits of Brow Lamination to you fully up to speed. It's important to know all the ups and downs before you start with a new brow treatment! SO, let's jump on it.
What is Eyebrow Lamination?
Eyebrow Lamination, or in short Brow Lamination is a semi-permanent treatment where the brow shape can be changed into the desired position using soft chemical solutions. A Brow Lamination has a longevity of up to 8 weeks, and is therefore the perfect solution to have pretty brows and low-maintenance brows for a long period.
The treatment softens out the eyebrow hairs and lifts them in the desired direction. The best part is that the brow lamination treatment also tames unruly hairs and makes thin brows look thick and full. Just by reshaping your natural brow hair. This makes the brows look full, glossy, and defined. And that's what everybody is longing for, right?

How does this process work?
An Eyebrow Lamination includes several steps. To begin with, the cleaning of the eyebrow hairs. Brow Lamination always works with 3 solutions to let the magic happen. Lets break them down:
Step 1: Relaxing solution, to relax the brow hairs and break down the current shape. A relaxing solution causes the disulfide bond to change shape. You need to let this soak in for a few minutes.
Step 2: The Laminate, contains light chemicals that straighten the hairs and lock them in for a semi-permanent amount of time (6 to 8 weeks). Also, this solution needs to be soaked in for a few minutes.
Step 3: The Nourishing Elixer, the lotion provides a significant moisturizing effect and nourishes the eyebrows, restores the structure of the hair after the lamination process brows. And voila that's it! Simple, but beautiful!

- Ideal for unruly or thinning brows - Brow Lamination can create a full brow look, so clients with sparse and thin brows love it
- No permanent changes - If you don't like it, let it dissolve. If you like it, come again! This treatment can last up to 8 weeks on brow hairs. It's adviced to always wait 6-8 weeks before you perform a new Brow Lamination, so you start with a completely new hair growth cycle.
- Combine with Tint - Brow lamination can be combined with Liquid Dye and the Airbrush. The best of both worlds.
What are the risks of Brow Lamination?
As with any chemical treatment, it's good to know the risks.
- Possible skin irritation or redness - As with any treatment, ensure your client is not allergic by conducting a patch test first. But anyway, some redness can occur as Brow Lamination is still a chemical process.
- Risk of overprocessing - Watch your timing! Many Brow Artists wrongly assume that the longer you leave the product developing, the better the results. But that's not the case here. Always adjust the timing to the type of hair you're working with.
- Not suitable for very sensitive skin - Even though our Brow Lamination solutions are vegan, they can still be a little harsh for super sensitive skin.
The aftercare for Brow Lamination
As with any beauty treatment, proper aftercare is essential to maintain the stunning results of Brow Lamination. From avoiding makeup for 24 hours to using nourishing aftercare balm daily, taking care of laminated brows is key to keeping them looking their best. Below are the most important aftercare tips for Brow Lamination:
- Don't apply makeup or receive any other eye treatments for 24 hours after your treatment.
- Avoid rubbing and touching the eyes or brows.
- Avoid contact with water, moisture, or hot temperatures for at least 24 hours.
- Avoid putting contact lenses back in for 24 hours.
- Avoid swimming/sauna for 24 hours.
- Use Nourishing aftercare balm or another nourishing oil daily on laminated brows.
- Comb the brows or lashes upward using a good spoolie brush every day.
- Try sleeping on your back for one to two days after the treatment. This is to prevent the brows or lashes from being deformed by the pillow.
- If any stinging or swelling occurs, apply a cold, dampened cotton pad, cold compress, or cooling spray to soothe. If the condition persists, seek medical advice and let the brow artist know so that they can put it on your record.
- Allow 6 to 8 weeks for the brows and lashes to recover before the following treatment.
Is Brow Lamination suitable for everyone?
Unfortunately, Eyebrow Lamination is not suitable for everyone. Let's go over it:
Chemotherapy: A chemotherapy treatment causes your hair to weaken and lose its strength. The hair growth may be temporarily decreased; therefore, it is a contraindication for Brow Lamination.
Alopecia: Alopecia is an autoimmune disease that causes your body to lose hair. Because of this, your eyebrow hairs are too weak, and there is a big chance that after a Brow Lamination, there will be no hair left. So it's better not to take the riks.
Scared skin: If you have scrapes, burns, or swollen skin, it is not recommended to do Brow Lamination. It can irritate your skin even more and provoke an allergic reaction.
Allergies: Are you allergic to any of the ingredients? Then it is not wise to perform a Brow Lamination. An allergic reaction can lead to hair loss and skin irritation.
