Details

The No. 2 Laminate is the second step in the Brow Lamination and Lash Lift process. This step sets the hairs into their new shape, locking in the lifted and styled result for a semi-permanent effect.

Results can last up to 6–8 weeks, depending on the hair cycle and aftercare.

This treatment works as a 3-step system:

Relaxing Solution → Laminate → Nourishing Elixir

When used correctly, the system acts as a type of perm for the brows, creating a fuller, more defined brow look. It can also be used for lash lifting treatments.

If the brow hairs are stiff or difficult to position, a priming glue can be used beforehand to style and secure the hairs into place.

    FAQs

    1. What is the main purpose of No. 2 The Laminate?
Supercilium No. 2 The Laminate is the essential setting and neutralizing second step in our Brow Lamination and Lash Lifting systems. After No. 1 has relaxed the internal hair structure, No. 2 stops the chemical softening process and rebuilds the disulfide bonds in their new position. It locks in your mapped symmetry, fixes the upward lift, and secures full, fluffy brows or beautifully curled lashes that hold for weeks.

    2. How long should No. 2 process on brows and lashes?
As a golden rule in professional lamination, always match the processing time of Step 2 directly to the processing time used for Step 1:
    - Fine/Thin Hair: 5–7 minutes (matching No. 1)
    - Normal/Medium Hair: 7–9 minutes (matching No. 1)
    - Coarse/Stubborn Hair: 9–11 minutes (matching No. 1)
Matching your timing ensures complete chemical neutralization, preventing hairs from remaining under-processed or continuing to relax post-treatment.

    3. What happens if I skip or under-process No. 2 during a service?
Skipping or under-processing Step 2 leaves the hair’s internal disulfide bonds broken and open. This results in a weak lift that drops within days, causes unruly hair textures, or leaves the brow and lash shafts vulnerable to environmental damage and breakage. Applying No. 2 for the correct duration is critical to guarantee a durable, long-lasting structure and healthy hair elasticity.

    4. Why is buying individual refills of No. 2 essential for salon management?
In high-volume salons, backbar supplies do not always drain at the same rate. Buying individual refill bottles of No. 2 ensures your station remains fully stocked without the need to repurchase complete 3-step kits. It maximizes profit margins, prevents treatment downtime, and gives artists complete flexibility over their backbar inventory.

    5. How do I transition from Step 2 to the tinting or hybrid dye step?
Once the processing time for No. 2 is complete, dry-wipe the solution away using a clean, dry cotton swab or pad (do not use water at this stage). Your brows or lashes are now fully neutralized and set. You can immediately proceed to map and apply your post-lamination tint or Liquid Hybrid Dye. Because the cuticle has been restructured, reduce your normal dye development time to avoid over-darkening.

    6. How many treatments does one bottle yield, and how should it be stored?
One bottle of No. 2 The Laminate yields up to 30–40 professional applications. To protect the integrity of the formula and prevent premature oxidation, tightly seal the bottle immediately after dispensing, wipe the top clean, and store it upright in a cool, dark place away from direct heat and light.
