More About Our Eyebrow Care

After the eyebrow treatment

Good brows start with good brow care. Full and healthy brows take time, that’s why we explain a bit more about why taking care of your eyebrows is so important. Your eyebrows are a very important feature of your face. They can change your whole facial expression. They are very important when expressing your emotions. No wonder why the attention for brows is still growing. Good news for eyebrow professionals. Supercilium Brow Care collection comes with everything that is needed to maintain good brows.

Everybody wants to maintain the outcome of brow treatments as long as possible. That's why Supercilium researched brow care solutions and routines that help to extend the longevity of brow treatment results. Either before or after the eyebrow treatments. But before we dive into the products, let’s first start with why cleansing and taking care of the brows are so important.

Before the brow treatment

Whether you are going for natural looking brows, sharp brows, fluffy brows, or statement brows, every brow treatment starts with a good cleanse. An eyebrow treatment always starts with proper cleaning of the full eyebrow area, to remove the dead skin, dirt, and excess oils. The cleaner the skin and brow hairs, the better the solutions used for any brow treatment can settle in. It’s like working with a clean canvas before applying the dye to the eyebrow. Read our blog to know how to clean eyebrows properly.

After the treatment clients can extend the outcome with the right brow aftercare routine by protecting the brows from UV rays and free radicals. Also, advise your clients to cleanse their brows at home. While we all cleanse our faces, we tend to forget the skin area underneath our eyebrows. And especially if you are doing brow treatments frequently, healthy skin underneath your eyebrow hairs will make the results last longer. Learn the tips of henna brow aftercare from this blog

Why is it important to cleanse the eyebrows before any brow treatment?

When we think of cleaning the eyebrows, we often think of a hair removal technique. But an eyebrow cleaning is more than just shaping the eyebrows and removing unwanted hairs. Proper degreasing and exfoliating of the eyebrows are often forgotten before you remove hair. This can cause oils and dead skin cells to remain below the eyebrow hairs. It affects hair growth and can even cause irritation in that area, resulting in weird growing stray hairs. But even more important for brow artists, this will also affect the results of henna brows and brow tint. Because of the thin layer with dead skin cells, the imprint on the skin may be more patchy and in the worst case, the henna does not stain the skin at all. By using a brow exfoliant you make sure the brow henna or brow tint can properly penetrate the skin. When using a magnifying mirror your clients can also see that the surface of your skin looks cleaner and more smooth after a proper cleanse. You can clean the eyebrows with our Pro Cleanser that has Matcha & Mint.

What can I do to let the brows grow faster?

Healthy, full brows just don’t grow overnight. Especially for people that were teenagers or adults during the nineties, the brows probably didn't come out without damage. While we loved the thin brow trend back then, most of us will probably not look back with the same love now we know all the damage it has caused for many brows.

Just like normal hair, eyebrows flourish when giving them some extra love. Castor oil is for example a beautiful natural oil that helps with the hair growth of brow hairs. Just like for the skin, castor oil can do magic for your brow hairs. But even with some extra love products, patience is key when it comes to growing your brow hairs.

What to do with overplucked brows?

When you are a nineties kid, or you just went a little overboard with your tweezers. We have all been there. A phase in your life where you have been a bit too enthusiastic about plucking your brow hairs. Our most important advice: Try to not touch them for 6 to 8 weeks. Just let them grow. We know, you will go through some rough phases, and probably stumble upon withdrawal symptoms, but in the end, it's worth the wait.

After that waiting period, advise your clients to go to a professional that can help shape their brows in a proper way. This whole process can also take multiple months, so make it clear to them that you are in this process together for the coming months. Do they still have empty spots? During the process of letting your brow hairs grow, you can fill the empty or patchy spots with a brow pencil. Our creamy brow pencil with micro-tip is perfect to fill in any sparse areas or to create hair-like strokes to give the illusion of fuller brows. Our Brow Control is also perfect to give the illusion of fuller brows. By brushing the hairs upwards it looks like the brows are thicker than they actually are. Sometimes you just need some extra tricks while in the process of getting fuller brows back ;)
